For more than 13 years, Dr. Stemmet served at Midvaal Private Hospital in Drie Riviere, where he became known as one of the institution’s most trusted and admired specialists. Beyond his surgical skill, it was his calm demeanor and reassuring presence that brought comfort to patients facing uncertainty.
Colleagues remember him as a brilliant yet humble physician—someone who combined excellence with kindness. He was a mentor, a team player, and a friend who generously shared his knowledge and supported those around him. Outside of his profession, Dr. Stemmet was a devoted husband to Heleen Lyell Stemmet and a loving father to his three sons, including a set of twins. His family was his greatest joy, and he treasured the time spent with them. He was also passionate about motorsport, reflecting a vibrant and enthusiastic spirit beyond his medical career.
